The site of Mt. Samat Shrine, Pilar town in the Second District of Bataan, is being considered by Mayor Charlie Pizarro as a fast growing municipality.
The mayor said the third class municipality with roughly 46,000 population will soon host factories and industrial firms which will be needing more or less 50,000 workers. “Ang kailangan ng Freeport Area of Bataan ay mga 50k workers,” he pointed out during a recent interview.
The Authority of Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) is making Pilar town as one its expansion areas in the province. Sixteen other areas in different parts of Bataan are undergoing development for FAB locators. “We are fast growing,” he said.
Pizarro disclosed that the P140 million Pilar Modern Public Market is expected to be completed next year in time for the completion of sites for FAB locators. The town’s water system donated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government was inaugurated recently. The mayor also said that the municipal government is now looking at the possibility of developing properties partly owned by the state.
